Michael Jackson's turning point - Pepsi & painkillers



During the sixth take of the commercial, performed in front of 3000 fans at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium on 27 January 1984, a faulty pyrotechnic set Jackson's hair on fire. He suffered second degree burns to the face and scalp. Pepsi settled out of court, and Jackson donated his $1.5 million settlement to the Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, CA, which now has a "Michael Jackson Burn Center"



This was the turning point.
